How can you maximize your precious Guided Reading time? Below is an example of a Guided Reading Monitoring Sheet. I have removed the student names that were on the top of each column. You will have a teaching point for each group and then you can easily monitor how each child is progressing for that teaching point. You can also include other important information about their reading on the sheet.
I have used these Guided Reading Monitoring Sheets for years. I love them because you can keep so much information on one sheet of paper. One sheet can last you up to six weeks. I keep all of the sheets on a clipboard that I grab each time I start one of my guided reading groups. Then I flip to the sheet for the group I’m working with. Sometimes I also do on the fly running records on the back of the sheet.
See even more about the Guided Reading Monitoring Sheets (including blank Monitoring Sheets that can be used for groups ranging from 1 to 8 students per group). You can purchase them in my TpT or TN store if you’d like to save yourself some time! In any case, happy monitoring!
